The book contains 125 photographs from the L. A. Huffman originals. Huffman was a post photographer at Fort Keogh just after the last war with the Sioux. He set up a studio in Miles City and went into forbidden reservations among the Indians. He trekked through Montana territory, went on hunting expeditions, and ranched to make ends meet.
