Clark Company, beneath the tipped on paper it states G.P. Putnum's Sons, New York, volume 2 and 3 do not have the tipped in paper for Arthur H. Clark Company, TEG (top edge gilt), fore edge & foot (bottom edge) untrimmed. the frontispieces for each volume have tissue guards. A biography of Christopher Columbus starting with his character, his biography up to the time of his going to Portugal, describes the discovery of the Admiral's Journal, his subsequent voyages, tracing his remains and other information. the three volumes have portions of leather chipped on the spines, the first volume has been professionally repaired placing the backstrip has been reattached, volume three stain on the leather spine.
