Kit Carson was born in Kentucky, but throughout his life he followed the westward moving frontier, fighting duels, involving himself in wars, battles, feuds, and adventures with almost every tribe of Indians in the West. In the Mexican war he was a Lieutenant of scouts, then became Indian agent for the entire territory. In the Civil War he was commissioned a colonel in the Army of the North, and largely due ot his foresight, courage, & firmeness that the Southwest remained in Union hands. Price: 5.74 USD
