Tittle, Walter The First Nantucket Tea Party New York, NY Doubleday, Page & Company 1907 Early Edition Hard Cover Very Good No Jacket/Near Fine Slipcase Illustrated unpaginated, brown cloth covered boards w/gilt lettering on the spine, w/color pastedown illustration on the front cover, near fine light brown slipcase. The volume contains twenty-four full page color plates, including the frontispiece, with eight of the plates containing gilt illumination decoration and lettering. Tissue guard between the frontispiece and the title page. The text page lettering is black framed with light green floral art. The story is a letter from a young lady, Ruth Starbuck Wentworth, at Starbuck Plantation, Nantucket on Sept 20, 1745 to her mother. She is staying with her aunt & uncle along with her grandfather and grandmother. She describes her cousin's return from China, and of falling in love with Captain Morris. Slipcase professionally built. prev owner's bookplate on the FPD, slight corner wear, worn one quarter inch spot on the spine. Price:
