xvi, 402 pp, quarterbound w/light brown cloth covered boards w/collection of ranch brands in dark brown, dark brown cloth covered spine w/gilt lettering on the spine. Inscribed & SIGNED by the author "This book is inscribed to our dear friends of many years Buff and Cathryn Morris, etc. Mr & Mrts. L. F. Sheffy". The author used the complete files of the Francklyn Company which had been donated to the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in Canyon, Texas for his references. There were ledger books, ranch records, range reports, original documents for legal transfers of property, personal and official correspondence of company officials from 1882 to 1957, newspaper files, maps, and photographs. The dj has been restored.

BTB #183 One of the best accounts of international corporate development of Texas Lands. Joe B. Frantz called it "the fullest book on ranching." The ranch was organized in New York in 1882, and began operations with the pur;chase of a little over a half million acres of Texas land.
