xl, 205 pp, [2], embossed brown leatherette boards w/gilt lettering on the spine, cream-black map illustrated endpapers, dark brown clothcovered slipcase. The book has a biography of Mrs. Johnston by Dr. Mildred PIckle Mayhall. The book contains a reproduction of Mrs. Johnston's letter to Mrs. Rebecca Jane Fisher dated October 18, 1894, mention was made that four plates have been stolen. The descriptions of the missing paintings are reproduced on page 205. To maintain the numerical reference to each painting, page numbers for paintings numbered 46, 91, 93 and 98 have been skipped. Preserved for future generations by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the William Barret Travis Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. foxing to the page edges, slipcase has been built by professional book binder..
