The editor has removed the dull & repetitious trivialities and left the vital day-to-say record of what the war looked like to those on the losing side. He has also provided a running comment on the true state of affairs at the front, his analysis presents a striking contrast between what really lay in the offing and what the Southerners at home were trying hard to believe. prev owner wrote on ffep, slight wear to edges of dj top & bottom of the spine.
