The book was compiled by the Pecos County Historical Commission form 1973 -1983. The book presents the prehistory of the Pecos County along with natural resources such springs, Leon Water Holes, creeks, geology, topography and minerals, vegetation, plants of Western Texas and fauna. It describes some of the early trails and military in the area. It covers farming, ranching, minerals, conveyance, treasures and catastrophes in the area.
