8 volumes, light tan cloth covered boards w/black lettering & deco w/orange sky on front & spine. Vol 1 consists of: From the foundation of the Cape colonly to the Boer Ultimatum of 9th Oct. 1899. Vol 2 consists of: From the commencement of the War to the Battle of Colenso, 15th Dec. 1899. Vol 3 consists of: From the Battle of Conlenso, being published after year end in 1902, or early 1903. Vol 4 covers - from Lord Roberts' entry into the free state to the Battle of Karree. Vol 5 covers - From the Disaster at Koorn Spruit to Lord Roberts's entry into Pretoria. Vol 6 covers - From the Occupation of Pretoria to Mr. Kruger's departure from South Africa, with a Summarised Account of the Guerilla to March 1901. Vol 7 covers -The Guerill War. From February 1901 to the Conclusion of Hostilities. The Development of Peace Negotiations from February 23, 1901 to May 31, 1902. Vol 8 covers South Africa and its Future. Volume Vi brings to a close the History of the War so far as the annexation of teh Transvaal is concerned. The end of the volume contains the Appendix which includes the Gazetteer, Biographical Reocrd, and Recipients of the Victoria Cross. The last two volumes, 7 & 8 were published by The Caxton Publishing Company of London per the title page, but on the spine of the book the publisher is lsted as T.C. & E.C. Jack. The boards have some soiling, endpapers discolored, some foxing to edges.
