The author wrote this journal when he was only twenty-two and it is a record of nine momentous months in his life. He had obtained the consent of his father to leave Scotland and live in London. His father wanted him to be a lawyer, but Boswell wanted to be an officer in the Footguards. dj price-clipped, dj chipped along the bop & bottom edges.

28 pp, quarterbound w/silver decorative boards w/green silk covered spine, green pastedown label on the front cover, professionally built green cloth covered slipcase . The paper of the text is deckle edged, copy number 190 of 260 cc's. The author describes the tolerance that the Hamilton Watch Company engineers use in the production of some of the various parts used in making watches. When they spoke of a tenth, they meant a tenth of a thousandth. Prev owner wrote on the ffep. some wear to the corners and edges, scuffed spot on the rear cover, small stain on the front of the spine w/wear spot and slight soiling.
