xii, 291 pp, brown cloth covered boards w/gilt lettering, brown coated paper endpapers. The book is a facsimile reproduction of the 1871 first edition printing. It contains the story of the adventures of William A. Wallace who was born in 1816 in Lexington, Virginia. He went to Texas in 1836, a few months after the battle of San Jacinto. His borther and cousin had both fallen at "Fannin's Massacre." The work divides into three parts: Wallace as hunter and INdian fighter; Wallace on the Mier Expedition; and Wallace's trip home to Virginia. reprint of Graff #1187, Howes D602, Dobie p 55, Raines pp 73-4, and BTB #50H
