[12], 84 pp, blu clothcovered boards w/silver lettering on the front cover and spine. The book is a collection of war letters of Lieutenant Thomas Dix Houston of Natural Bridge, Virginia, who was imprisoned at Johnson Island, Sandusky, Ohio, where he had been imprisioned after the Battle of Gettysburg. He had participated in the Pickett's charge and had fallen amidst the enemies guns at the crest of Cemetery Ridge. He recuperated in hospitals at Gettyssburg and Baltimore. soiling on one page of text.
