152 pp, blu cloth covered boards w/gilt stamped lettering on the front cover, decorative endpapers. The book is based on the story of the campaign as given in the Prussian Official History of the Campaign of 1866, Hozier's "Seven Weeks' War," Derrecagaix's "La Guerre Moderne," and Adams' "Great Campaigns in Europe." The book makes a comparison of some of the military developments of the War of Secession with corresponding features of the European conflict which occurred one year later. The titles of the chapters are: Chapter I -The Military Strength of the Opposing Nations, Chapter II - The Geographical Situation, the Plans of the Opposing Commanders, Chapter - III Operations against the Hessians and Hanoverians, and the Invasion of Saxony, Chapter IV - The Invasion of Bohemia, Chapter V - The Battle of Königgrätz, Chapter VI - Comments on the Campaign and Battle, Chapter VII - The Prussian Advance from Königgrätz to the Danube, Chapter VIII - The Campaign in Western Germany and Italy. some insect depredation to the covers, where the finish is chipped.
