History of Texas' oldest town involved eight historians: James Corbin, James McReynolds, Archie McDonald, F.E. Abernethy, James Reese, Edwin Gaston Jr., and I. Kirpatrick. The twelve chapters begin with the pre-European Indian culture, and include the establishing of the town by Gil Antonio Ybarbo, the Fredonia rebellion, battle of Nacogdoches druing the Texas Revolution, the town during the Civil War, the economic growth and the modern city. bottom front corners slight bumping.

(6), 41 pp, brown-wht SC wraps w/pictorial front panel. The story of the Stone House of Antonio Gil Y Bargo which served as a fort, store house, jail, capital of governments, courthouse, lodge hall, meeting place and saloon. It was torn down in 1902 and the stones and timbers were used to build another structure. Then it was dismantled and moved to the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University. This booklet is the history of this building.
