The author worked with the cooperation of the Thomason family, including Thomason's widow, Leda, and obtained much material from them firsthand. Col. Thomason was a Marine writer that wrote "Fix Bayonets!" and other books and he also was an artist. He was a legend in the Marine Corps before he was 40, he found his identity in the Marine Corps druing World War I. the dj has a half inch tear on the rear panel, dj in brodart mylar protector.
