The booklet has an illustration of the scaffold which was located behind the Fayette County Jail in La Grange, Texas. It has photos of the sheriff, August Loessin, and his deputy, Will Loessin. The booklet lists two cases where the criminal was tried and found guilty and then hung. The first case was about the murder of a lady and her granddaughter where $37.00 was taken. The second case was the John Boyd case. This case was for assault and the criminal was captured and convicted and then hung.
