The top edge of the pages are red, deckle edges on the fore & bottom edges. This work presents the history of Texas as a Spanish province and state from the Mexican viewpoint. It has been presented as the first comprehnesive study of any section of northern Mexico. The author presents the history of the area from Spanish colonial times through 1848. The volume includes numerous folding maps, plates, portraits, facsimiles, and textual charts. The bibliography in the book runs from 675 to 701. The author fought in the Mexican Revolution under Carranza adn Pancho Villa. He was the auhor of numerous works on the early history o Texas and Mexico.
