The author presents a well-researched explanation of the events from the perspective of solider, their commanders, and the tactical situation in the early day sof the Korean War. He debunks several of the Associated Press's key assertions - that hundred of civilians were killed by this unit at the railroad underpass at No Gun Ri, that it was intentional , that it was ordered by the unit's officers and that it was covered up. He shows how several of the veterans who allegedly witnessed the massacre and influenced others' testimony were no even present in the unit at that time. He gives us a critical analysis, not only of the incident and this cavalry unit's role, but also of how American investigative journalism could produce such rash exaggerations adn misplaced allegations of gross wrongdoing by these American soldiers of fifty years ago.
